At Kismayo (Italian Somaliland) about 160 natives staged violent demonstrations against the Secretary General of Somaliland who was touring the region.

The situation is under control, but during an attempted attack on public offices, the demonstrators killed a warrant officer of the Carabinieri, a Somali inspector, and a carabiniere. Twelve policemen were injured.

The incidents occurred when police tried to persuade the natives to disperse. Police are pursuing the demonstrators who have sought refuge in the bush.
