Hiiraan Online (in Somali) — “New Spokesman for Islamist Military Operations Named”
A man named Abdirahman Ise Addow has been named spokesman for Islamic Courts military operations. He spoke with some Mogadishu radio stations last night for the first time following a battle between Islamic Courts forces and federal Somali government troops at Siinka Dheer, which lies between Mogadishu and Afgooye.
Abdirahman Ise Addow claimed that they inflicted losses on government soldiers in the attack they mounted on Siinka Dheer. He said their side suffered no casualties. “We killed many soldiers, captured many weapons comprising PKM machineguns andAK-47 assault rifles, confiscated extortion money, and burned two vehicles, “Abdirahman Ise Addow said. He said they attacked the location because it had been used to victimize Somali people.
The newly appointed spokesman of Islamic Courts military operations said that they would attack any federal government and Ethiopian military position. He said they would not stop the fight until Somalia was liberated from what he termed as enemy invaders and their collaborators.
Abdirahman Ise Addow stated that his job was only to speak for Islamic Courts military operations. He said he was not responsible for other affairs of the Islamic Courts.
The appointment of the spokesman for Islamic Courts military operations comes at a time when Islamic Courts forces are attacking federal Somali government military bases in some regions of Somalia.
