In a joint military operation, the heroic Oromo Liberation Army [OLA] and the Ogaden National Liberation Army [ONLA] have put over 157 soldiers of the Weyane [Ethiopian] occupation army out of action.
Between 10 and 15 May 2007, commando units of the heroic OLA and ONLA conducted attacks in various places in the province of Warder, Ogaden, killing over 82 Weyane soldiers and wounding over 75 others.
Weyane troops particularly badly suffered in a battle that occurred at a place called Biyo Daye.
Following this battle various types of material and many hand grenades and ammunition were captured from the enemy.
All Ogaden people in whose areas the battle occurred were impressed by OLA’s bravery and determination during the fighting.
OLA and ONLA have said they would step up joint military operations against Weyane forces.
It is to be recalled that recently Meles Zenawi, the head of the Ethiopian regime, vowed to crush the armed struggles of the people.
