Khartoum — Secretary general of the Popular Arab and Islamic Conference (PAIC), Dr. Hasan al-Turabi said that the West has returned to Somalia to revive colonialism using the UN’s authority to control the people’s future and to stop the spread of political independence and Islam.

He explained in his address before the inaugural session of the PAIC meetings this morning that the Arab League and the Islamic States Congress didn’t carry on their role towards Somalia and that Somalia hasn’t received any sort of support.

Al-Turabi pointed out that the Somali people have protected their freedom by presenting a large number of martyrs and had suffered from poverty till the African horn broke the U.S. aggression.

He called on the conference to exert efforts to conciliate the political dispute between the fighting Somali factions.
