National Security Court Acquits Charges Against Manifesto Group

The National Security Court in Mogadishu today, 15 July, ordered the release of 45 people jointly charged under Article 18 of Penal Code Law 54 enacted on 10 September 1970. The 45, who had been charged with the preparation and dissemination of propaganda against the Somali nation, were released by the court which, having listened to prosecution witnesses and seen evidence against the accused, ruled that there was not sufficient evidence, and the accused should be released unless they were facing other charges.
