Somali National News Agency [SONNA] and foreign reporters have visited areas recently attacked by the Abyssinians and their collaborators. Jaalle (Comrade) Yusuf Muhammad Haid of SONNA reports.
The delegation from the Ministry of Information and National Guidance, representing Somali broadcasting, SONNA, Somali films and newspapers, yesterday morning met a delegation of news agencies and television stations from UPI, AFP, DPA and the BBC. The two delegations toured Galkayo airport and the town itself. During their visit, the delegations witnessed the damage caused by the black Abyssinian Air Force, which has bombed the town eight times. Badly damaged areas were filmed and the pressmen saw the severe damage caused to the town and its surroundings.
The two delegations then visited the casualty ward of the main Galcalo hospital. In this section of the hospital, we saw several persons wounded during the black Abyssinian colonialists’ attacks on Somali territory.
UPI reporters Paul Dinov and Sa’if Awan, told us that they clearly saw proof of the savage Abyssinian aggression against Somalia. The DPA reporter, Peter Stellau, from the FRG told us: I saw depressing scenes. The AFP reporter, Marie-Therese Delboulbes, said: I saw some interesting things. The BBC reporter, ‘Abd al-Qadir, said the aggression cannot be hidden.
After our visit to some parts of Galkayo, we left for Goldogob. We saw the marks and results of the black Abyssinian colonizers’ flagrant aggression against Somali territory. The reporters visited areas where fighting took place and saw the weapons captured from the Abyssinians and the destroyed military hardware.
The reporters later interviewed a senior officer commanding the fighting troops. Several questions were posed to the officer. The officer described the Abyssinian aggression, the numbers of Abyssinian soldiers, the weapons captured and the types of weapons they are using.
