Mogadishu radio rebuffs Ethiopian claims

Mogadiscio Somalia Domestic Service (in Swahili) 1510 GMT

The reports published in our press on the Ethiopian forces activities against the unarmed Somali people were not false. It is a matter of great regret because of the wrong actions against the Somali people, who only desire to unite with their motherland.

It is impossible that the use of force will enable the Ethiopians to achieve their purpose and goal. Ethiopia’s assumption that in killing children and defenseless women and by looting Somali livestock it will thus check the people’s aspirations to unite with their motherland shows its great ignorance.

The act of cruelty of using planes and tanks to massacre unarmed children and women has also failed. Indeed, the aspirations and demands of the Somalis are and will continue until their fulfillment. History shows clearly and teaches that the use of force, cruelty, and looting cannot end or destroy the aspirations and faith of the Somali people to unite with the motherland.

The Somalis have been holding fast to these desires without wavering until their ultimate fulfillment, that is, their total unification.
