Cairo radio — 1650 GMT
Reports from Djibouti state that a clash took place between the French forces and the people of the Somali coastal areas after the people had hoisted a Somali flag at Dikkil, 120 kilometers from Djibouti.
The French sent an armed force supported by tanks and armored cars to the village. The people clashed with the French soldiers when they tried by force to bring down the Somali flag.
Two French soldiers fell. Leaders and sheikhs, who were arrested in this connection, were released for lack of evidence.
